Egon Schiele and his era 28 September 1989 – 8 January 1990 The exhibition illuminated the painterly and graphic creativity in Vienna around 1900, a fascinating era of intellectual upheaval when the Habsburg monarchy came to an end. In addition to 52 paintings and drawings by Egon Schiele, a total of 145 works of art by 24 artists were shown, including Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Richard Gerstl, Koloman Moser and Max Oppenheimer. The exhibition was created in cooperation with Prof. Rudolf Leopold and the Kunstforum Wien and was shown after Vienna, Zurich and Munich, further in Wuppertal and London.
