Inclusive offers at the Kunsthalle

Kunsthalle München is committed to making art accessible to everyone. Inclusion and cultural participation are fundamental to our mission. We are therefore continuously working to make both our exhibitions and our digital services as accessible as possible.

On this page, you will find information about accessible visits to Kunsthalle München as well as the accessibility of our website.

For people with difficulties walking
and those in need of a wheelchair

The Kunsthalle München is barrier-free.

The elevator near the ticket counter, entrance Theatinerstrasse, will take you to the first floor. Another elevator at the stairs to the 2nd floor will take you to the exhibition level after showing your ticket.

Three lockers at seat level are reserved for people in wheelchairs (deposit € 1).

On the exhibition level there is a wheelchair compatible toilet (accessible from the front and right).

We try to provide sufficient seating in the exhibition and in the foyer. It is not allowed to bring your own (folding) chairs.

Two wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge (with a € 20 deposit) at the checkroom. Reservations are not possible.

The exhibition architecture is planned with sufficient space between pedestals and display cases for wheelchair users.

For deaf people and
people with hearing disabilities

In cooperation with the MuseumSigners we regularly offer guided tours in German Sign Language through our exhibitions.

Induction loops for the group guiding devices are available by prior arrangement.

For visually impaired
and blind people

The exhibition texts are designed to be well-legible.

Guide dogs with appropriate identification are allowed in the exhibition.

On occasion we offer public guided tours for visually impaired and blind people. Please contact us for more information at kontakt@kunsthalle-muc.de or T +49 (0)89 / 22 44 12.

The guided tour for visually impaired and blind people provides detailed verbal explanations and descriptions of the works.

For people with learning difficulties
and offers in easy language

The texts in the exhibition aim at conveying information in a clearly understandable language (in German and English).

Exhibition tours in easy or simple language as well as for patients with dementia can be booked on request at kontakt@kunsthalle-muc.de or T +49 (0)89 / 22 44 12.
