An entertaining and insightful journey through projections, role models, and prejudices that continue to have an impact today. Was Haar und Haarwurzel über unsere Psyche verraten Lecure by Prof. Dr. med. Eva M. J. Peters (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen). Hair is much more than just a surface feature—it is a sensitive indicator of health. In a highly active mini-organ, each individual hair grows in alternating phases of growth and rest. It is connected to the brain via nerve fibers, and stress directly influences its growth. At the same time, it stores stress hormones, thus preserving traces of past stress. The lecture shows how closely hair, the nervous system, and health are connected. Prof. Eva Peters heads the Psychoneuroimmunology Laboratory at the Clinic for Psychosomatics at Justus Liebig University in Giessen and also works at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin. She is a dual specialist in dermatology and psychosomatics, a certified psycho-oncologist, and a neurodermatitis and urticaria trainer. She also works as a depth psychologist and systemic psychotherapist. English with German subtitles From teenager to it girl: Sofia Coppola uses opulent images to tell the story of a young woman whose body, clothing, and hairstyles become political symbols. Married as a teenager to the court of Versailles, Marie Antoinette is completely reimagined—her appearance serves as a representation and exercise of power. Between magnificent wigs, court etiquette, and private longing, the film makes the emptiness behind the pose palpable—while at the same time celebrating female visibility as an act of self-assertion. Wie Social Media und KI Rollenbilder formen Lecture by Dr. Alina Gales (Technische Universität München) Hair is an expression of identity, power, and belonging—even in the digital space. But who decides which images of the body and gender are visible? Social media and AI systems shape our perception more than we realize. This lecture highlights how algorithmic processes reinforce, distort, or normalize stereotypical role models—and how these digital power structures can be identified and critically questioned. Alina Gales holds a doctorate in cultural studies. She heads the Diversity & Inclusion department at the Technical University of Munich and is a speaker on the social impact of artificial intelligence.
