The Dreamworld of Dolls

The Kunsthalle took a journey through the cultural history of dolls in Europe, from antiquity to the present day. Treasures from international museums – including the famous de Galéa Collection in the National Museum of Monaco – and private collections were on display. Much of it had never been on public display before. The exhibition presented a panorama of the most important types of doll development and manufacturers in the classic doll countries of Germany, France and England. In addition to mannequins and automatons, as well as fashion and play dolls from several centuries were presented.
