DADA

An International Movement 1916 – 1925
4 September – 7 November 1993

The exhibition captured Dada as a global phenomenon, with over 100 documents and photographs illuminating the various centers. In addition, about 150 paintings, collages, sculptures, etc., by artists such as Hans Arp, Marcel Duchamps, Max Ernst, George Grosz, Raoul Hausmann, Hannah Höch, Francis Picabia, Man Ray, Sophie Taeuber, and Kurt Schwitters were shown. The majority of the works came from the Kunsthaus Zürich’s rich Dada collection, which was supplemented with loans from other collections. After Munich, the exhibition was also shown at the Sprengel Museum in Hanover, as well as at the Kunsthaus Zürich.
