Conceptual Images Art of the Present 1960 – 1990 13 July – 8 September 1991 Based on exemplary works of European and American art from three decades, a panorama of idea or thought art was shown, which is considered one of the essential currents of this time. The range of different approaches extended from the Minimal Art and Concept Art of the 1960s and 1970s to the thought- and meditation-oriented investigations of the present, as represented by recent American and European art. Paintings and sculptures by well-known artists such as Frank Stella, Donald Judd, Bruce Nauman, and Sol LeWitt provided the necessary framework for an examination of the positions of contemporary authors such as Jeff Koons, Haim Steinbach, Helmut Federle, and Elaine Sturtevant.
