Thierry Mugler: Couturissime presents 150 haute-couture and prêt-à-porter outfits by a visionary couturier, director, photographer, perfumer and dancer – almost none of which have ever been exhibited – in addition to accessories, stage costumes, videos, rarely seen sketches, and archival material. Numerous art prints by leading fashion photographers round out the show.
This catalogue is the first monograph dedicated to fashion designer Thierry Mugler. The result of extensive research, this book edited by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, contains essays by Jeanne Beker, Nathalie Bondil, Marie Colmant, Matthias Harder, Jack Lang, Amelie Nothomb, Lou Stoppard, Stefano Tonchi und Shelly Verthime; with 350 archival images and previously unpublished photographs by the biggest names in photography, in addition th photographs by Mugler himself. The book was published by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Publishing in association with Phaidon. It was designed by the Montreal-based firm Paprika
