Tickets can be purchased during opening hours (daily, 10 am – 8 pm) at the ticket desk at our main entrance (Theatinerstraße 8). Between exhibitions, the desk will be closed. However, tickets are always available through our online shop. The tickets are valid for one entry into the exhibition. Regular tickets may be used at any time over the course of the exhibition, but reduced-price tickets (except monday tickets) are only valid on the day of purchase.

Coat Check

Coats, umbrellas, large bags and backpacks cannot be brought into the exhibition. While visiting the exhibition, you may drop these items off at the coat check for a fee of € 1.30. Additionally, we have 72 small lockers that can be used free of charge (deposit € 1).

During the summer, the coat check may be closed due to low demand.

Virtual Reality

We kindly ask for your understanding that you have to wait at the Virtual Reality stations in the exhibition “Thrill of Deception”. You may not be able to experience these works if the number of visitors is too large. The waiting lines may be closed at ca. 6pm. The manufacturers recommend to not use the
headsets under the age of 13. Children under the age of 10 are not admitted as the headsets are too large and children may have problems to perceive the virtual depictions and to process them.

The Kunsthalle is barrier-free. By the ticket desk, there is an elevator up to the main level. After showing your ticket to the guard at the entrance, they will call for the elevator that will bring you up to the exhibition level.

Two wheelchairs can be borrowed from the coat check for use in the exhibition at no cost. It is not possible to reserve these in advance.

Photography for private use and without flash is allowed. However, there may be exceptions if specific lenders do not grant permission for their works to be photographed.

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the exhibition.

Discount coupons for the Kunsthalle where sold until December 31, 2011. They were valid for four years and have expired on 31 December, 2014, therefore they can no longer be accepted.
