Inclusive offers at the Kunsthalle

The Kunsthalle München would like to enable all people to have access to art. Inclusion and cultural participation are part of our core values. All visitors should feel comfortable and welcome at the Kunsthalle.

On this page, you will find information about barrier-free and inclusive visits to the Kunsthalle.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our visitor service (weekdays 10 am to 3 pm): kontakt@kunsthalle-muc.de or +49 (0)89 / 22 44 12.

Please also contact our staff on site if you need assistance.

For people with difficulties walking
and those in need of a wheelchair

The Kunsthalle München is barrier-free.

The elevator near the ticket counter, entrance Theatinerstrasse, will take you to the first floor. Another elevator at the stairs to the 2nd floor will take you to the exhibition level after showing your ticket.

Three lockers at seat level are reserved for people in wheelchairs (deposit € 1).

On the exhibition level there is a wheelchair compatible toilet (accessible from the front and right).

We try to provide sufficient seating in the exhibition and in the foyer. It is not allowed to bring your own (folding) chairs.

Two wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge (with a € 20 deposit) at the checkroom. Reservations are not possible.

The exhibition architecture is planned with sufficient space between pedestals and display cases for wheelchair users.

Guided Drag Tour

During go drag! festival Drag King Perry Stroika gives guided tours in German through the exhibition Viktor&Rolf. Fashion Statements.

The Munich-based Drag King has a penchant for kitschy, colorful menswear and describes his own aesthetic as something between camp and campsite owner. He explains that fashion is not only a means of personal expression that can signal our social affiliation, but also an art form that can break through social norms. This tour focuses on the intersection of art, queerness, high fashion and drag.
