VIVID, CRITICAL, PROVOCATIVE
Everyone knows Keith Haring’s colourful figures (1958–1990). The exhibition “Keith Haring. The political line” takes a fresh look at the artist with the distinctive style. In his works, Haring took a critical look at his era and made it his mission to highlight social evils. He took a clear stance against the excesses of capitalism and was committed to nuclear disarmament, environmental protection and equal rights for all, irrespective of ethnicity, skin colour, religion or sexual orientation.
With its collection of essays and statements made by friends and contemporaries, together with 261 coloured illustrations of his works, the exhibition catalogue reveals little-known aspects of the seemingly famous artist.
